In the last week of term 4OH took a trip to the River Stour as part of our River topic.
We learnt all about the small animals that live in the river bed and even got to do some pond fishing! We found some freshwater shrimp, leeches, bloodworms and flatworms along with tadpoles.
We took a walk along the river to see the wildlife that lives there. We learnt about swans and how they mark their territory, as well as otters and water voles. We were also lucky enough to see a Kingfisher diving for its prey!
Finally, we learnt how the rangers are taking care of the land by using cattle to control the vegetation.
A massive thank you to Kingfisher Barn for letting us expand our knowledge of rivers!
