The children in Year 2 have been finding out about the works of William Morris a British textile designer and printer born in 1834. As part of our learning about William Morris and the art of printing, Year 2 tried a printing method using circular pizza bases and felt tip pens.
The children were excited to create their own designs using some of the ideas of William Morris which mimic prints from the environment. They practiced drawing their own designs and then were each given a pencil and ΒΌ of a circular pizza base to recreate their design on.
They used felt tip pens to colour their designs.
The final step was to spray their designs with water and to carefully print them.
Well done Year 2!
