Over the last couple of weeks Year 4 have been exploring different poems with one common theme: rivers. Last week they had the chance to write their own poem, following the style of one we’ve studied, about a river dweller of their choice. With a great array of writing techniques like metaphors, personification, rhyme and speech came a great array of creative poems, have a look at just a few from our Year 4 classes.
Some chose otters…

Some chose birds…

Some chose grass snakes…

Some chose the river itself…

They even got to display their work for the school community! Well done Year 4.
