Roman Buildings

This half term, Year 3 have been learning about buildings across the ages, with a particular focus on Stone Age, Roman and 21st Century buildings. We have found out about the main features of buildings in each time period and even had a go at making some Roman buildings today.

We learnt important vocabularly to describe features of Roman buildings such as column, pediment (the triangular part on top), fluting (the ripples in the columns) and mosaic. We then wrote an explanation about how we made our building and how Roman buildings are different to Stone Age ones.
