South West England Dodgeball

This week Winton’s dodgeball team had an early start in order to get to Bristol, for the South West of England Dodgeball championships. This was as a result of us winning the dodgeball tournament for Dorset held in Bournemouth earlier in the year. This time we were due to play school teams from London, Newquay, Somerset and Exeter.

On the day the team played some fantastic dodgeball, good counter attacks and some lovely ‘Triple threats,’ (throwing 3 dodgeballs at a time at the same opponent!). This made for some very close games all of a high standard.

Finishing 3rd in our group meant we needed to win our 3rd place play off against St White’s Primary from Gloucestershire to take the last qualifying position for the National finals in Nottingham! This time it wasn’t to be… but the children were rightly proud, as was I, of their efforts and sportsmanship over the day. We made some good friends from the British Dodgeball Association. Congratulations to all the children involved.
