Seasonal Sewing

Year 4 have been working hard over the last few weeks to create some festive decorations to bring some sparkle and colour to a tree in a local church this winter.

We have learnt how to do the blanket stitch, running stitch and the cross stitch and we used these skills to make some seasonal decorations. We then stuffed them and finished them off with some embellishments, to make them extra festive.

A group of children from Year 4 then took a trip down to St Luke’s church to decorate the tree, ready for our local residence to enjoy over the winter season.

If you get the chance, please pop in and have a look at our tree. The Light Festival opens at St Luke’s Church, Bemister Road, on 1st December and it is open every day between 3pm and 5pm.

We may be biased, but we think our tree looks great!
