We have had an excellent day so far at Hooke Court. Today is our dedicated Ancient Egyptian day and the children have had great fun engaging in a variety of Ancient Egyptian arts and crafts. They were really excited to get into their costumes, with some changing into them before we even had our breakfast!
Afterwards, we began a day of creativity, where the children shaped Ancient Egyptian ‘ankhs’ , a symbol of life, using wire. Some have been busy making canopic jars out of clay, after learning more about the mummification process. It was also really great to see the children cook Egyptian meals of sweet bread.
There are certainly a few tired faces but they are all enjoying themselves and engaging fully with the tasks. Great job Year 4!
