Mass Eruption

Year 3 had an explosive start to their week! Winton Primary School was shocked by the tremors of over 100 volcano explosions. Did you feel it? As part of their home learning project, Year 3 were asked to make a model volcano ready to erupt and they did not disappoint. We have spent the last few weeks learning about the Romans, focussing on the disastrous eruption of Mount Vesuvius and the destruction of the nearby city of Pompeii. On Monday morning, the adults in Year 3 were amazed to see the fantastic effort that the children had put in to making their own model volcanoes.

They came prepared with a range of ingredients including coke, mints, bicarbonate of soda, vinegar and even red food colouring. This all culminated in a mass eruption!
