The children in Year 1 have enjoyed learning about the prefix un and how it changes the meaning of a word when it is added to the start. The prefix un- usually means not, so the new word means the opposite of the original. The children loved acting out each word.
Our Big Book story this half term is called Rory and the Dinosaurs and is about a little boy who visits a dinosaur museum and sees lots of dinosaurs. Each dinosaur is described in the story with an un word. We spotted these words and practised writing them and putting them into our own sentences. Here is some of our work.
Keep up the super work year 1!
