Musical Instruments

Earlier this term, Mr Overment talked to you about recyling and showed you how to make a football out of plastic bags and string.  In today’s video, we are going to learn about people who live near a landfill in Paraguay who have used things they find around them to make music.  You can also have a go at making a guitar out of objects you are likely to have at home.  You can watch the video here:

Here are some instructions to help you:

  • Tissue box, or small cereal box with an oval hole cut in the front
  • Poster or acrylic paint/Newspaper
  • 2 lolly sticks
  • Long cardboard tube (for example from a roll of foil or baking paper)
  • Elastic bands of different sizes and thicknesses
  • Buttons or decorations (optional)
  • Paintbrushes
  • PVA glue
  • Scissors
  • Sticky tape
  • Newspaper, for the table
