In Year 5, we have been exploring our Solar System this term. So far we have looked at the different planets that make up our system, created our own planets and written information texts about them and we are in the process of writing diaries as if we were the first people to land on Mars.
To help us understand Mars a bit more, we have looked at the planet closely thinking about its geographical features and what we would need to do if we wanted to make it habitable for humans to live on. To help us do this, we have learnt about the different Mars Rovers which have already visited Mars and sent important data back to Earth. Taking inspiration from them, both those students in school and learning from home have designed and created models and drawings of Mars Rovers. Below are some of the amazing examples that we’ve seen.
