Having fun learning in Reception

We have had another great week in Reception with lots of fun as we learn. The children are really building up their independence as they continue to use the ‘Let’s Learn Boards’ and choose activities to try in outdoor and indoor learning. Each class received a set of magnetic Polydron this week and we love it! The children have used it to make 3D shapes, models, tesselating patterns and even sandwiches. One group of girls used it to build an enclosure for the ponies!

In outdoor learning this week the children have enjoyed playing in the sand, finding leaves that match the ones in the tuff tray and practising writing in the sand tray.

The obstacle course continues to be popular too. It gives the children lots of opportunities to design their own courses and practise their balance skills. Some children have also been helping their friends to walk safely around the obstacles.

In indoor learning the children have been practising their fine motor and cutting skills by cutting leaves, copying patterns using foam and tracing over the letters we have been learning with buttons.

Well done Reception, it has been another wonderful week! We are all very proud of you.
