Year 1 have been enjoying learning lots in school this week. We have covered lots of different areas, including animal hibernation, aboriginal paintings and the work of the artist Wassily Kandinsky. Along with our daily reading, writing and maths. It has been great to see the children settling into their new routines with new teachers and building on good friendships with their peers. They have managed social distancing well and we have managed to adapt many of our usual activities so they can still be enjoyed.
We enjoyed our work on hibernating animals and were interested to learn that a group of hedgehogs can be refered to as a ‘prickle of hedgehogs’.
Our paper aeroplane competition became very competitive and the children worked hard to build the plane that would fly the furthest.
We allowed our artistic and colourful sides to shine when we explored the work of Wassily Kandinsky.
