Practical maths

After an enjoyable morning in Year 3 looking at our amazing World Book Day costumes and sharing our favourite books with each other, it was back to work as normal, finishing off our week on shape.

We have been looking at properties of 2D shapes, lines of symmetry and finally moving onto 3D shapes and nets.

In today’s session we looked at some 3D shapes and talked about their names, nunber of faces, edges and vertices. It was hard to imagine from an image so we found it really helpful to explore the shapes and fold them flat to make their nets.

We enjoyed working with our partners and exploring the 3D shapes.
