In year 6 this week we have been recapping our understanding of electricity and circuits. We have tested each other in order to to memorise the scientific symbols for various implements we need when creating circuits.
We also got to have a go at creating circuits. Some of us managed to connect a cell (single battery) to a bulb, a buzzer, a motor and include a switch. It was extrememely fiddly but we worked together and were hugely successful.
This is the foundation for year 6 as later in the term, as part of our WW2 topic ‘We shall meet again’ the children will be using their knowledge of circuits to create their own alarm/buzzer. They will combine science and design technology to do this. Stay tuned…
