Winter workshop

As part of our Christmas topic, the children invited their parents/carers to come in and get in the Christmas spirit by making many Christmas decorations! Some of the decorations are even going to be taken to a local church to help decorate their very big Christmas tree! The children decided they wanted to make baubles, candy canes and reindeers (which was a very popular favourite)!

The children have been getting arty by painting, colouring and cutting many different decorations ready to be taken away to decorate their homes. The children made some super penguins; they showed great fine motor skills carefully cutting out, eyes, feet and beaks. They have also showed a great awareness of length, cutting the strips accordingly to create colourful Christmas trees. We even got our hands messy when painting candy canes and reindeer.

The children have had a great time and have made some lovely artwork, we are not sure whether the children or the parents have enjoyed it more! We would like to thank all parents/carers for coming in to help with the winter workshops, it really made such a fun morning! Here are a few pictures of us making our fantastic Christmas creations!
