This week, we in Year 3 have been hard at work making Stone Age soup for our adults when they come in to find out all about what we have been learning in our topic this half term.
We have been thinking about what goes into soup and what people in the Stone Age would have had in their soup that’s different to what we have in our soup now, we discovered that soup hasn’t changed all that much.
Before we started to make our soup we became familiar with all of the different vegetables we would be preparing and putting into our soup. We also reminded ourselves of the things we must do before we start to prepare food, including washing our hands and putting on an apron.
We have learnt from our PE lessons that it is important for us to know what is going into our food. When we were preparing our vegetables we worked on our peeling and cutting skills, we thought about how it is important for us to use these tools carefully and sensibly.
After we had prepared our soup, we put it in the cooker. While we were waiting for our soup to cook we wrote up some instructions on how we made it so that, if we want to, we can make it again.
We are really looking forward to sharing our soup with our adults!
