Reception loved learning about the season, ‘Autumn’. The children have learnt so much about the changes that happen, like the leaves changing colours and our weather getting colder and wetter. As part of their learning, Reception have talked about the clothes we must wear in Autumn to stay dry and warm. They have also learnt about the food that is grown at this time of year and all about the harvest. The children said that pumpkins reminded them of Autumn.
As part of our landing for this topic, the children had a great time exploring pumpkins! We passed pumpkins round, feeling them and smelling them. Some of the children said they could remember carving pumpkins last year. They children enjoyed scooping the seeds out of the pumpkin and separating the seeds from the pulp. We then carved our pumpkins too!
