Last week the Year 6 boys took part in the annual Predator Football tournament at Littledown. 24 schools battled it out in 4 leagues of 6 schools. Each school had to win their league to qualify for the semi finals stage of the competition.
Winton made a great start winning 1-0 against Elm. They followed this up with a 1-0 win against Moordown and then a 3-0 win against St.Lukes. A 1-1 draw against Stourfield meant that we had already qualified for the semi finals. A great achievement.
In the semi finals against Kingsleigh Winton scored first but a Kingsleigh equaliser in the 2nd half took the game to penalties. Agonisingly, although exciting, Winton lost in the shoot out.
Winton did us proud though, especially with how they reacted to losing such an important game. These results bode well for the upcoming season. Thank you to all the parents who came to support.
