Last Thursday, all of Year 3 descended on Victoria Park Tennis Courts to show off the tennis skills they had learnt over the Summer Term. Their coaches had planned a tournament rotation, whereby the children in each class played a doubles game against children from the other 3 classes.
Year 3 definitely rose to the challenge and continued to play enthusiastically and energetically in the scorching sun. It was great to see some raging rallies, brave backhands and smooth serves that demonstrated how far the children had come since their first coaching session.
Throughout the matches, the 3 coaches were carefully totalling up the winners of the individual games, so that a winning class could be announced at the end. Finally, the scores were announced… it was close, but 3KA managed to pip the other classes and take the trophy!
The children had a wonderful morning and not only displayed their blossoming tennis skills, but also showed excellent sportsmanship to one another. Well done Year 3 – you should be extremely proud of your hard work!
