Our topic in Year 4 this half term was ‘Garden Galleries’. To gain inspiration, we all headed down to Cherry Tree Nursery and did some observational drawing on many different plants and flowers. We used all of these and created masterpieces based on different artists such as Georgia O’Keeffe, Vincent Van Gogh and WIlliam Morris.
Once we had completed our artwork, we decided that we would like to sell it to raise money for two important charities. Our first charity was Cherry Tree Nursery and our second was Piam Brown Ward in Southampton Hospital. To raise more money, as a class we produced large pieces of art work and conducted a silent auction. In English, we wrote persuasive letters to get our parents down to buy our amazing drawings and paintings.
We raised over £180 from our art and the silent auction! We are really proud and can’t wait to give the proceeds to our charities.
