The children in Reception were learning about Minibeasts before the half term break. They had been carefully watching and looking after some caterpillars, and by the time the holiday came the caterpillars had turned into chrysalis. Miss Churchward was left with the task of taking them home and looking after them, what a responsibility!
On return to school all of the butterflies had emerged from the chrysalis and were ready to fly. It was such as exciting time letting them go.
The children decided we should let them go near some flowers:
Then Miss Churchward put her hand into the butterfly house to try and coax them out!
One wasn’t too keen to go and stayed on Miss Churchward’s hand!
And then he was off! Fly little butterfly!
