From Farm to Fork in Year 5

As part of our Food for Thought topic, Year 5 have been looking at where our food comes from and how to eat healthily. We started by visiting Kingston Maurward Farm where we met and fed lots of animals. It was a wet day for 5MA and 5LC but our spirits weren’t dampened as we had fun seeing the lambs, goats and pigs. 5EG and 5EL had a beautiful sunny day to enjoy the farm!  After learning about healthy eating, the children planned an activity for Year 2 to teach them what they knew.

At the end of our topic we created our own recipes. Everyone wrote up their recipe for our Year 5 recipe book, which you will soon find on the website! Each class created one dish from the book to give out as samples. The parents and teachers loved trying all of different food that they made.
