Last week, Year Three launched their exciting History topic: Were the Romans Really Rotten? On Thursday the whole year group came to school dressed as different members of Ancient Rome’s society. They learned about how the Romans used their own numeric system and practiced applying their learning by solving Roman Numeral sums. After that, they began to design and create their own chariots; using cardboard and papermache to create a base on which they can paint their designs. Later in the day, The Treehouse Theatre worked with each Year 3 class to learn a ‘Play in a Day’. They learned, rehearsed and then performed a four-part play that retold some of the fascinating and tumultuous events of Rome’s history.
The children performed excellently; remembering their lines, actions and timings. Year 3 definitely have some potential actors and actresses!
