Last week Year 1 visited Compton Acres as part of their ‘Tree’ topic. In class and around school we have been practising identifying and naming different flowers and trees. We have also been labelling the different parts of a plant and describing their function. While we walked around Compton acres the children were very excited to indentify the different flowers they could see. We also enjoyed learning their names, the Firework Tulip was one of our favourties.
We investigated the different leaves on the trees and tried naming them.
We also investigated deciduous and evergreen trees and talked about the difference and what was special about evergreen tree leaves.
