This week the girls’ football team and AFC Bournemouth celebrated International Women’s day by playing in a tournament at Bournemouth University. AFC Bournemouth hosted the tournament and Winton got off to a great start in the league phase by beating St.Marks 4-1 after going a goal down. Then Winton beat Elm 12-1 and then finally won against Kingsleigh 4-1 in the final game. This then led to an overall final against St. Marks where Winton showed some fantastic teamwork, stamina and determination to repeat their earlier performance and triumph 3-1. I was so proud of the girls for their sportsmanship and effort. Well done Winton.
