This week Year 2 launched their fairy tale topic by coming to school in a variety of marvellous costumes and exploring four fantastic tales. In Mr Magrath’s room the children listened to The Princess and the Frog story and used their cutting and glueing skills to make paper frogs. Everyone was inspired by The Elves and the Shoemaker tale in Mrs Brown’s room to use as many different materials that could be found to design and make their own incredible shoes.
Mrs Packer shared the story of The Pied Piper and led the children to making their own colourful rat masks.
The tale of Thumbelina was discussed in Mrs Lord’s room then the various characters were coloured in, cut out and arranged onto a beautiful classroom display.
Well done Year 2. It was certainly a day to remember!
