For the last two weeks 3KA and the rest of the year have been working on non-chronological reports based on their space topic. The children used library books and the tablets to research which area of space they wanted to base their report on, and then they had to create a plan. Some of the features of their reports included rhetorical questions, interesting facts and using subheadings for each paragraph.
Once the children had finished their research, they then started writing their reports using full sentences and paragraphs. It was important that the children referred back to their plans so that they could remember all the interesting facts they had found out!
When their final versions were complete, the children then had a whole lesson to purple polish their work, editing any parts which needed improvement. The final results were great and extremely informative!
