We are continuing, in year 3, our Stone Age topic and in English lessons moving onto instructions. For the next two weeks we are using the book “How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth” by Michelle Robinson to understand the requirements of instrution writing and to, by the end, be able to write a set of instructions for a simple, everyday task.
In order to learn the text this time, we have used role play to familiarise ourselves with it.
Recently, we interviewed our partners, who were experts, at washing the woolliest of mammoths. Miss Long interviewed some of us too.
She had lots of questions that really tested our new knowledge.
We have also had lots of fun getting to grips with imperative verbs and have been using these around the classroom to boss our teachers around.
