We have had another busy week in Reception, the children have loved learning their new story, ‘The Queens Handbag’. After finding out that the Queen’s handbag and crown jewels have been stolen the children have been hunting around Reception to help find them! Finding out about the stolen goods has led to Reception learning about Queen Elizabeth and they have written some fantastic fact cards about her. Indoor learning has been made into a castle to reflect our new topic and the children have enjoyed role playing as the Royal Family. The children have enjoyed exploring indoor and outdoor learning areas, here are some photos of the children learning.
The children have been working hard to improve their fine motor skills by using the geoboards and using chopsticks to pick up pom-poms. They have been doing some great writing, writing in the shaving foam and writing servant rules and letters to the Queen. They have showed great gross motor skills and hand eye co-ordination by throwing the balls into the basketball nets. Reception have shown their creative side by painting, Kings, Queens and Crowns. Wow! Reception you have had another busy week!
