Year 1 have been measuring up.

Year one’s topic is dinosaurs and the children wanted to find how big they really were. They were amazed that a Tyrannosaurus Rex was nine metres long and that one of its teeth could grow up to 30 centimetres! They went on to find out lots of other amazing facts about the size of dinosaurs.

It was a good time for the children to do some of their own measuring.

First draw around a class mate.

Next find out how many cubes long are her legs.

What about her arms?

Then the children used their cubes to find out the length of other objects that they found around the classroom.

Finally it was time to use rulers.

Fantastic measuring everyone!
