The Bournemouth schools year five and six tag rugby tournament was played last week at the Littledown Sports Centre. This is always a well organised tournament where teams are awarded points for fair play and showing good attitude. The format also allows teams to play lots of matches throughout the day and enables children to be competitive whilst improving their Tag Rugby skills. Winton were excellent and won all their matches convincingly in the morning, this meant the afternoon was a challenge as Winton had to play the winners of all the other groups! Against very strong opposition the team were brilliant showing a superb attitude and skill to draw two matches, and rather unfortunately losing three matches by one try! Winton finished sixth out of the twenty plus schools who attended and Mr Burt was delighted with Charlie who won the fair play medal for showing a good attitude to his team mates and opponents throughout the day.
