Crazy Creatures

To launch our topic, ‘Healthy Roots’, which links learning about skeletons, muscles and healthy living in animals and plants, the children in Year 3 had a visit from ‘Crazy Creatures’. As you can see from the pictures, the children thoroughly enjoyed the experience of handling or viewing creatures such as a Giant African Banded Millipede, Giant Madagascan Hissing Cockroach, Chilean Rose Tarantula, Flat Rock Scorpion, Blue-tongued Skink, African Leopard Tortoise and even a python, while learning all about their different skeletons and adaptations. We were amazed by the amount of children who wanted to hold or touch the crazy creatures!
