AFC Bournemouth Player Comes To Visit

This week Winton had the pleasure of welcoming Steve Cook, a member of the current  AFC Bournemouth team, to our school. Steve is the Premiership Player fronting the “Respect” workshops that AFC Bournemouth in the community come in to deliver, to our children, on a weekly basis. By the end of an academic year each Key Stage 2 year group will have had four lessons on E-Safety, Healthy Lifestyles, Respect and Road Safety to go alongside some practical coaching that the club offers. Winton have been involved in these projects from the beginning so of course were delighted to accept the invite from Steve as well as club legend Steve Fletcher and Community Lead Steve Cuss to see how a typical year 6 workshop would look. All of the children learnt the importance of being respectful both at school and when they play sport! Thank you again to AFC Bournemouth for continuing to support Winton Pirmary in many of your community schemes.  Please see AFCB Community on twitter for further photos. Needless to say our children were a credit to all staff and adults involved.
